ES: Cj and I achieved a several decades back at a retail store that we worked at and she was my supervisor! We became buddies and even however we no more time function jointly at Blue, we collaborate generally simply because we make a terrific team. 

CA: We satisfied at a previous position of employment where by I was Essie’s supervisor. The 1st time I spoke to her was in an job interview for the work. ES: I really like reading, crafting, tenting, and getting outdoors. Right now I’m getting enjoyment mastering how to engage in yet again. I lately bought roller skates. I loved skating when I was a kid, and re-mastering it has been a fun way to de-stress from adulting.

CA: I normally seem to be to have a dwelling renovation challenge or approach to redecorate some thing, which retains me really chaotic. I also really like the outdoors: climbing, kayaking, and using my 2 pet dogs up to the mountain trails. Utah is the Finest for discovering.

ES: I’m truly proud of the art demonstrates I have curated. The most new clearly show was “The Beat of Our Blood” which was an show that includes only BIPOC artists. I produced a combined media painting for the present titled “She Becomes”. The matter of the painting is a panther girl and it is my recent favored.

CA: The Received Natural beauty Summertime Pride window is my new most loved! It was so enjoyment to collaborate with Essie and the wonderful gals of Received Elegance to generate a little something with so a lot meaning and objective, but that is also just so rather to appear at. ES: I am at this time working on a solo exhibit titled “The fire in her eyes.” This show as a whole is intended to be a commentary about the methods in which colorism, texturism, and internalized racism in the black community have been intensely influenced by Eurocentric standards of elegance. Some pieces will be visual translations of my lived activities as a Black lady in the United States. Other items will spotlight the toughness, and sensuality of the black woman kind even though exploring themes of sexuality, gender expression, and self-acceptance. The clearly show is tentatively set for November 2022. 

CA: I’m dying to go larger and bolder with picture shoot staging! I have so lots of ideas in my head of what I would really like to do. Elopement shoots, stylized bridal, way of living pictures… And finally, the dream is to generate visible operates of artwork for firms to use in displays and promoting.
